Dear Family & Friends,
We are so grateful for this time of year. What a wonderful time to be able to reflect and remember the birth of the Savior and all that He has done for each one of us. We are so grateful for the blessings we have received as a family. Here are a few highlights from 2009 from our family.
Dale was officially accepted into grad school at the beginning of the year. He has been busy, but has enjoyed the work he’s had to do. He is hoping to finish up in December 2010. Dale is also working at BYU right now. He works for the BYU Law School developing a web site for them. It has been a good job, and helpful in his thesis and experiences in Information Technology.
Kara has been able to continue to stay home with the kids. We found out in February that we would be expecting baby #4 due November 11th. She was kept busy with the kids, pregnancy, keeping up on the house, and helping Dale out when she could.
Will started primary this year (the children’s Sunday school class in our church). He has really enjoyed it. He loves learning and singing the songs. He’s given multiple talks, and scriptures. Will turned 4 this year, and upon his request had a Star Wars party. Anything, Star Wars, Will LOVES. He still tells people about his “4 year old Star Wars birthday.” Will also did a 6 week program this year for swimming and then another program for gymnastics. He loves them both! He did well, and was able to get a lot of energy out, and wants to do more. We’re hoping to get him in another session this next year.
Kate turned 2 this year, and is so much fun. She is defiantly two though. J She loves Princesses and playing dress up, and anything pretty girly. However, our little Miss Kate, can hold her own pretty well against her brothers. She loves to play pretend with Will. This includes, Star Wars, Peter Pan, Princesses (Will is the prince that recues her), etc.
Spencer turned 1 year old in May this year. We were all waiting for the pivotal moment in his life when he would WALK! J He finally started in August (he was 15 ½ months old). We were really excited. Since we were having a baby in November we were anxious for him to walk and be good enough at walking before the baby came. Spencer also started Nursery, which has been so wonderful, he has loved it.
Jack Dennison Murri was born on November 4, 2009. He was 8 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long. He was doing wonderfully until November 13th when Dale and I noticed some breathing problems, and sudden palsy appearing on the right side of his face. After contacting the Pediatrician office, they told us to go to the ER. The ER doctors were a little stumped because his symptoms weren’t adding up. After they talked to the on call Pediatrician, Jack was admitted to the Pediatric Unit at Utah Valley Medical Center. After several hours and several tests it was determined that our 10 day old baby had a blood clot in his brain about ¼ the size of his brain. Jack was then life flight to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake, and admitted to the Pediatric ICU. After more CT Scans, and waiting and testing, it was decided that Jack would have brain surgery to remove the clot. Things went remarkably well, and 1 week and 1day later he was sent home. He is doing SO great.
We are so grateful for family and friends that offered several prayers for our family, and helped us with our kids while we were in the hospital with Jack. You have all helped us to remember what this time of year really is about, and what is really important in our lives. Jack has already been such a huge blessing to all 5 of us. We thank you again for all that have helped us in any way.
