Day 4: Family Reunion Begins

We started our afternoon off by stopping by Dippin' Dots (yeah, it's an actual ice cream store here, not just a little mall joint) because the kids were troopers for us while we took a little driving tour of Ventura.

Will and Kate got Bubble Gum and also Cotton Candy flavors (we got half and half, it's not an actual combined flavor), they loved it. Will wasn't convinced it was ice cream though. Lol.

Will was cold, so he wanted to sit outside. So he and I sat outside to warm up a bit.

Kate, Spencer and Dale enjoying their ice cream. They had this little kids table that was so fun for Kate and Spencer. Spencer was so happy to be sitting in a big chair alone, and also eating ice cream.

After ice cream Dale's sisters had made it into California. We were excited that everyone was able to come to the official 2009 Murri Family Reunion. Dale and I put it together, and it was so fun to have everyone here.

We started out the evening by checking what is called The Cross on the Hill.

It was an amazing view of Ventura and the ocean.

Ocean

The actual cross has an interesting story behind it (I thought). So, someone actually bought the small area of cement where the cross is, so no one can talk the city into taking it down and saying they are anti-Chris or whatever and it needs to be gone. It's private property, so it gets to stay. Kind of funny, and cleaver.

Spencer loved to check out the view. I loved this picture of the two of them.

Next we decided to check on the Pier. It was so beautiful.

I was amazed at all the pelicans we saw. They are HUGE, so much bigger than I thought. It was amazing to watch them fly so high, then swoop down and catch a fish. I think this picture might have been an attempt to get a pelican in it, but it's not viable, so yeah. The ocean looked amazing though.

Will, Betty, Dale, Kate, Spencer all enjoying our VERY windy walk.

Aunt Lisa and Willard

Our family on the Pier wit the beautiful ocean behind us. Yeah, it was crazy windy.

On the walk back we saw a beach park and decided to stop for a couple minutes. It was a blast.

Spencer and Ella loved swinging. They are so cute together.

So happy

Will loves to climb on anything. These were kind of tricky for him, but he got them figured out, and loved to climb through them.

The "tongue slide" as it became known to us.

Kate LOVES slides. They are her favorite.

Skyler had to take a turn on the infamous slide.

Then Will was final brave enough to check it out.

Kate and Ella had fun on the slide together

Spencer and Ella playin' again.

Will climbing

This was an awesome twirly thing. Skyler twirled Lisa around, it was great.

Kate had so much fun.

Will loving this park.

Spencer loved to crawl UP the slide . . . didn't work so well for him, lol.

Grandma and Grandpa and the 4 grandkids.

After some dinner, and some much needed bathes, the kids all got dressed for bed in jammies from Grandma Murri.
