Dear Family and Friends,
Merry Christmas!! We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, and that 2010 has been a good year for you and your family.
Dale started off the New Year by being offered a wonderful position at BYU! He works for Independent Study as their Systems Engineer. That basically means that he’s the IT guy for Independent Study, and he is in charge of making sure their courses work properly. He’s enjoyed his new job. Soon after Dale got his new job, we decided that it was time to find a place of our own. We were able to build a house in Spanish Fork (about 15 minutes south of Provo), and move in on April 1, 2010. We have all enjoyed the space and just having a place to call ours.
Kara has been blessed to be able to stay home with the kids. It’s a crazy job some days, but overall very rewarding and fun. We found out in May that we’d be expecting baby #5! We are very excited to be welcoming another baby Girl in January of 2011. Kara’s pregnancy has gone fairly well with no complications. However, the end is always the hardest, but there are only a few weeks left.
Willard graduated from preschool this year. He always enjoyed preschool, but was so excited to start kindergarten. He turned 5 in June, and has really enjoyed it. He also started kindergarten in September. Will has had a blast. He struggled some at the beginning being a bit too social at times, but it’s been sorted out, and he’s doing great! He’s reading really well and having a great time.
Kate turned 3 and we started her in preschool in September. She has been loving all the various things she gets to do. Kate is pretty shy, so it’s been good for her to be in preschool and get to be around kids her age. Kate is also VERY excited to be having a little sister. She cannot wait to have another girl in the family.
Spencer turned 2, and is very good at being a 2 year old. J He is very happy and loving. He’s also very good at being grumpy when he doesn’t get what he wants. Spencer started being potty trained this year, and has mostly accomplished this goal. He is very stubborn, so it was much, much harder than it was with either Will or Kate. He’s come a long way and we are proud of him.
Jack is doing wonderful. Last year at this time he had just had his surgery, and life was still in a whirl wind of doctor appointments and unknowns. Jack is progressing exactly as she should be for his age. He continues to see a pediatric stroke specialist, but even that will be twice a year this coming year. Jack turned 1 in November, and loved smashing into his cake. He is crawling around everywhere, and cruising along the furniture. He’s on his way to walking, just not quite yet.
We have been so blessed this year. There are always trying times, but the blessings we’ve seen have been so wonderful. Dale has a wonderful job, we have a beautiful home, we have 4 healthy kids, and another one on the way.
We are so grateful for this time of year to keep up and catch up with all of you. We are grateful for this time to remember our Savior Jesus Christ and his birth, and what that means for each of us.
We hope and pray that you’ve been safe, and healthy and happy this year, and that that will continue throughout 2011. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
The usual picture of the kids at the top of the stairs. It's a miracle, they were all looking the FIRST time ... lol.
Will was SO excited about this new Lego set (that has a giant glare). It's a castle.
Spencer got his very own lightsaber and some Star Wars guys.
Jack got a ball. We haven't had one of these in a long time, and decided he needed a big ball. He LOVES it.
Stockings all filled.
Our little Christmas village we got to barrow this year. All lite for Christmas Eve.
